Watching a movie in nature

In the weekend of 23 & 24 July we were guests at Nature Center Gorinchem in the Gijs van Andel Park. The big screen was set up in the green courtyard, from 9.15 pm the first film lovers trickled in and at 9.45 pm we could start. The tall trees and colored lights added an extra dimension to the evening.

The organizations joined forces again after a first successful outdoor cinema evening in 2020. On Friday evening, 75 visitors enjoyed the fascinating story of singer and activist Inna Modja. In the documentary The Great Green Wall she took the viewer on a journey to her native region in the Sahel, through the diverse and colorful African countries. Where climate change affects conflict, migration and poverty.

On Saturday evening, the film lovers were taken to the steppe in Mongolia. A young cop stands guard at the found body on the steppe. A local shepherdess keeps him company and has her own plans. The film provided fascinating images of Mongolia and an insight into the undulating life there.

This summer you can admire even more film screenings outside under the starry sky. The next outdoor cinema evenings are in August, at De Koninklijke Bazuin and Slot Loevestein. More info and tickets at I hope to see you then!
