Sunday Special sold out - The Father
On Sunday 19 September we screened the widely acclaimed film The Father in VUE Cinema; Actor Anthony Hopkins took home this year's Academy Award for Best Actor at the age of 83. We and our visitors understand why!
The Sunday Special sold out very quickly, so the organization added an extra screening. In The Father, Anthony loses his grip on reality. The film is gripping but above all respectful and moving. Afterwards there was a discussion with writer and former owner of the care agency Kroese Kits, Dick Kits. Completely in line with the end of the film is the catchy quote 'Meet the human where he is' in Kits' book. This afternoon he launched his recently published book Dementie & Empathie in VUE Cinema.
The visitors were very impressed by the catchy film. Afterwards, they could contact Jacqueline Blom of the Mantelzorgpunt Municipality of Gorinchem with questions about informal care.
Sunday was the first film in a whole series of films from the autumn program of the IFFG. Next up is the Monday Movie Night on September 27 with the beautiful Moroccan film Adam.
